Club Opens New Restaurant
By Mary Demakos, Dorchester On Thames Golf Club has opened its door to a new restaurant. The newly renovated 5000 square foot clubhouse has large windows and an outdoor patio deck overlooking the golf course. The restaurant seats over 100 inside the dining hall and more than 40 outside on the patio. Red Seal Chef, Rob Catton, crafts all the meals. The restaurant offers a regular and banquet menu and accomodates wedding receptions, business meetings, holiday parties and everyday dining experiences. "We offer anything and everything. We have a variety for everybody from children's menu, barbequed meals to stuffed pork, chicken and steaks," says Catton, chef and food and beverage manager for the club. "We have Italian cuisine, Mexican, Greek, and traditional British continental." He states that the menu will always be updated and because it's open 12 months a year, they will have Fall and Spring menus. Catton has been in the business for 35 years. He spent 22 years as a chef in Calgary and most recently at Blue Ginger in London before coming to Dorchester. He has been a Red Seal Chef for 30 years and his resume includes building and designing pubs and working various golf course kitchens throughout Ireland, Texas and Vancouver. He guarantees that you will enjoy your meal along with the atmosphere created by the scenery and staff. "It is a warm, fun, great dining experience with a friendly staff and a view to kill," says Catton. Everything on the menu is made from scratch with a wide array of desserts and full alcohol and bar services. The menu is large and contains appetizers, wings, ribs, calamari, platters, daily features and breakfast. Catton states that they offer great prices for fine dining and regular menu foods. "We have the best Fish and Chips in London and area," he says. The restaurant hosts theme nights and dress-up nights. Dinners can participate in Hawaiian, British and 50's themes nights on selected days and win prizes. The Dorchester On Thames Golf Club restaurant will have fish bakes and fish fries along with their own Lobster Fest and October Fest. They are featuring a Wine and Dine also known as a Nine and Dine. where golfers can play nine holes of golf and receive a percentage off their dining. The restaurant is opened Monday- Thursday from 10am to 8pm, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 9pm., Sunday from 9am to 7pm. Brunch is 10-1. The also accept reservations. |
